This is a very last minute post and not one that I had planned to make. The domain transfer is taking longer than I thought it would so it’s likely I’ll have to finish the process tomorrow. I was really hoping everything would transfer over today, but alas, no such luck.
Hopefully tomorrow it will be as simple as updating the database but we will have to see. Wish me luck!
The time is nearly here to part ways with this domain name. Unfortunately, it did not get as much use as intended, but it served me for the time it needed to. I honestly meant to move everything over this weekend, but my body had other plans and decided that sleep was more important.
I plan to start the migration tomorrow, likely after I get off work, as I doubt I’ll have much time to do it during. Mondays are generally a suck fest and any chance of having free time goes out the window. It’s why, despite how shitty I feel, I managed to set up my trade post for the Hoarders activity due to launch tomorrow on Afterlife.
I almost decided not to blog today because I was literally on the doorstep of passing out. I thought it was because I was sick, but it was because Robby gave me some of the medication I have for my back that has some unforeseen side effects, including lowering my blood pressure, which almost always results in my needing to pass out. I battled it as best I could and even set an alarm to wake me at 9:00 … Read More
Long ago, in a web presence far, far away, comment rotations existed; you know, before everyone and their mama decided they were all web/graphic designers when they’d never even touched a single line of code. I’m getting ahead of myself, though, so let’s take a step back.
Comment rotations existed, which allowed those who signed up the opportunity to connect with bloggers who blogged about similar things. You would sign up, fill out your blog details, including what category your blog best fit under,r and then every Sunday or Monday, you would get an email with a list of 3 blogs that you were expected to comment on that week. It was a great way to discover new blogs and expand your network.
Sadly, as with most things they came to an end.
That’s right; your girl has decided to open up a comment rotation website! The script has been completed, and I just need to find some time to figure out what the fuck I am going to name the rotation and design or pay someone to design a theme for it. Ideally, I’d like to launch on the 1st of February,f but I may have to … Read More
It should come as no surprise to those who know me best, my proclivities in domain names, though in fairness I have managed to ditch the habit of purchasing domain names I do not intend to use. Well, more like, I did intend on using them but never did.
Anyway, I bet you’re all wondering what the point of all this is. And if you’re not, you must be a member of Afterlife. Regardless, I wanted to make sure whatever little readers I have are informed of the following:
This domain is set to expire in 30 days. While “A Life in Transition” suited me at one point, I just can’t say it does now. So come renewal time, I will instead be purchasing anginflux.com.
All of the content on this blog will be accessible at my new home. The archives will remain intact in case you wanted to browse past entries. In addition I plan on keeping the theme I currently have so readers only have to update their URLs.
I am hoping the change in name will give me that connection which allows me to write and not second guess myself over and over.
Time will … Read More
Recently I’ve decided that setting my paragraphs apart by using CSS, specifically selectors and the property attribute makes it that much cooler. I mean it’s possible it doesn’t, and I’m just full of myself, but I guess I’m willing to take that chance.
Now what I use presently on my blog is a DROP CAP, NOT the first-letter selector or text-indent property. I may decide I’ll cover drop caps in depth at a later point, but today we are aiming to start small and then work our way up.
There are two ways that you can stylize your paragraph that are both simple and easily doable; meaning copy paste code and throw it into your stylesheet without have to think about it.
The two ways to alter your paragraphs is by using indents and also by altering the way the first letter in a paragraph looks, known as first-letter. I felt that it adds a bit of uniqueness to posts and it makes it easier for readers to discern where a paragraph ends and starts.
Since styling my paragraphs, I’ve actually gotten a fair a number of requests asking how to do it. I’m going to go out on … Read More
